Descânt

Named after the song by Dordeduh, this artwork was featured on the label design of one of my Hopsylvania beers. In Romanian “descânt” means “chant” or “spell”, and even though this is named after one song it is actually inspired by their “Har” album in its entirety. Hands down one of my favorite albums from the past few years, it has resonated with me on more levels than I could have possibly imagined, both musically and lyrically. So as a token of appreciation for their music, I’ve created this World Tree spiraling between the heavens and the underworld, with an ouroboros infinitely intertwined through its eight branches and eight roots, one for each song on the album. As above, so below. Much like this serpent, the circular album also ends in its own beginning in a perpetual cycle of death and rebirth.
