Fever Dreams

Named after the song by Emma Ruth Rundle, this artwork was featured on the label design of one of my Hopsylvania beers. Initially sketched out while listening to her emotionally intense and inspiring music, this piece is an allegory on the well known square and compass symbol, moving away from those perfectly aligned man-made tools and instead looking to nature for something that better reflects the orderly chaos in which we live. Playing on the duality of life and death, restlessness and peace, hope and despair, it’s a reminder that the gentle cannot be truly appreciated without first experiencing the jagged, embodied here by the moth and jaws.
