Tender Surrender

Named after the song by Steve Vai, this artwork was featured on the label design of one of my Hopsylvania beers. It was the second artwork I created using stippling techniques and also one of the most intricately detailed ones. Pierced by an arrow mid-flight, this still holds a special place in my heart even to this day because it marked a crucible moment in my personal life but also a transition in my journey as an artist. The ink work alone took me ~20h to finish plus another followed by many hours of digital coloring. Despite promising myself I’d never stipple again, ironically this ended up being my go-to technique and a defining part of my style.
