Visions Of Summer

Named after the song by Causa Sui, this artwork was featured on the label design of one of my Hopsylvania beers. Inspired by mad honey with its vision inducing properties, this plays as an allegory not only on the band’s own psychedelic music but also on the badger skull that’s featured here, chosen for the animal’s affinity to ravage hives, evidence of which I’ve also found on my own nature walks. The cycle of death and rebirth, an ever-fascinating theme for me, is also very much present under the guise of summer wildflowers, blooming from honeycomb eye sockets while all else crumbles, drips, and decays.
